Problem and Purpose Statement
Problem Statement:
San Francisco State University, a smoke free campus, is in need of a system to direct
users to the designated smoking areas on campus.
Purpose Statement:
The purpose of the study was to improve the signage system to effectively utilize the
designated smoking areas on the San Francisco State University campus.

About Me.
My name is Yuka Shinozaki. I'm from Japan. My current major is Design and Industry (Interdisciplinary), but my emphasis is on the visual communication side. My interests are editorial design and making collages. I really have fun doing design layouts for magazines and published work.
I'm inspired and influenced by everyday things, such as packaging design, street art, visual store layouts, fliers as well as people who I interact with everyday.I'm also inspired by both Japanese culture as well as American culture.
I would like to gain and experience doing design work and editorial work for an established firm, but eventually, I would like to do work for myself. For example, I enjoy biking and urban culture, so these are two things that I would like to design for and based my designs off of.
I took this picture. It is a city that I'm living in, and filled with all the things that I love which inspire me the most, so I think this picture is a representation of the current me.
Six words that best describe me: urban, simple, easy going, fun, random and unique.
